Education - Organizations The Canadian Association for Research and Education in Intellectual Disabilities (CARE-ID) is being established. This national association will serve researchers, educators, clinicians, and students who have an interest in intellectual disability, as well as organizations whose missions are related to persons with intellectual disabilities (ID). Down's Syndrome Association in the UK has produced materials on a variety of topics in education. These are but two of the many titles available on the Education Publications page of the DSA web site.
Down Syndrome Education International, based in the United Kingdom, works to advance the development and education of individuals with Down syndrome. Their name reflects the wide reach of their work and emphasizes their commitment to deliver improvements in the quality of life for young people with Down syndrome everywhere.
Special Education Technology - BC (SET-BC) is a British Columbia Ministry of Education provincial resource program established to assist school districts in educating students whose access to the curriculum is restricted primarily due to the following disabilities: physical disability; visual impairment; autism. In addition to the ongoing technology and implementation support provided to students through their service delivery activities, SET-BC implements a number of initiatives each year that extend or enhance their services to special student populations.
