Helping individuals with Down syndrome is not limited to providing them programs and services but it also means providing educational opportunities for the people with whom they interact. Several times a year, the DSRF puts forth workshops and seminars led by some of the most knowledgeable people in the field.

These presentations attract many teachers, parents, relatives, and interested professionals. Sessions are informative and interesting, often providing much practical knowledge along with personal anecdotes and examples.

• Our Parent Group Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month and provide a forum for sharing and gathering information on the triumphs and challenges of parenting.
• The Planning for the Future workshop series, provides an overview of the financial, residential, and personal support needs of adults with disabilities in British Columbia.  One day workshops of the series have been presented outside of the lower mainland to the communities of Parksvile, 100 Mile House and Williams Lake.
• The Down Syndrome Research Foundation launched a sexuality workshop series for adults with disabilities, S.H.A.R.E. : Sexuality 101, in 2009.
