Over $245,000 Raised at Run Up for Down Syndrome
Second Biggest #RunUp4DS in History!
After a cold and rainy event in 2022, sunny skies returned for the 2023 edition of Run Up for Down Syndrome presented by Upper Canada. What didn’t change was the phenomenal enthusiasm of our community.
923 runners representing 63 teams ran and walked in celebration of their loved ones with Down syndrome. With more than 1,250 donors contributing, you collectively raised over $245,000 for the programs and services of the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation – the second highest total in the event’s 28-year history.
Along with the runners, the success of the event is due in large part to our generous event sponsors, including presenting sponsor Upper Canada Forest Products, LiUNA Western Canada, CTV, Save On Foods, Prospera Credit Union, BC Maritime Employers Association, Mott Electric, Return-It Express, Allwest Insurance, Vancity, Spirit Ridge Resort, KPMG, the Vancouver Canadians, Outback Team Building and Training, and the City of Burnaby.
Special thanks as well to our incredible volunteer team including those from SFU Hockey, Starbucks, Telus, and RBC. And as always, Run Up for Down Syndrome wouldn’t be the same without emcee extraordinaire John Crosby, who was ably assisted on stage by DSRF Ambassador Jodi Klukas and signer Carina Hei.
To each and every individual and organization who contributed in any way, thank you for helping people with Down syndrome thrive. We look forward to seeing you back at the start line in 2024!
