Junior Behaviour Consultant

Rachel (she/her) is a Junior Behaviour Consultant (JBC). She completed her undergraduate studies at Western University, and has a Master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on autism and other developmental disabilities from the University of British Columbia. Rachel is currently studying in preparation to sit for her Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) exam. With over four years of experience in the field of behaviour analysis, Rachel has supported children and adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings, striving to create supportive, empowering environments that embrace and celebrate neurodiversity. She is deeply committed to neurodiversity-affirming and family-centered practices and aims to foster inclusion and implement inclusive practices that honour the unique needs of each individual. Rachel has a family member with Down syndrome, and she is excited to be part of the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team at DSRF. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, skiing, and hiking with her dog.

Fun Facts about Rachel

1. My favourite movie is Mamma Mia.

2. I enjoy skiing and playing in the snow with my Bernese Mountain Dog.

3. I love to read, and I challenge myself by increasing my reading goal a little bit each year (this year, I’m aiming for 55 books).
